Psych NP here. This isn’t an entirely new mechanism of action, as other medications also influence dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. Additionally, effect sizes across different studies aren’t equivalent to head-to-head comparisons. A smaller effect size doesn’t necessarily mean a medication will be less effective for an individual patient. ADHD treatment is not one-size-fits-all, and individualized care matters.

What Med for a first diagnosed ADHD patient would you recommend. I was diagnosed 5 years ago. A PA decided to mess with my Anxiety and depression meds instead. That did not go well I went into psychosis and took a bottle of pills not aware what I was doing. I was inpatient for 3 weeks. I wish I never had gone to get diagnosed. It’s ruined my life and I suffer daily w untreated ADHD.

I have to look more closely at the info around the pharmacodynamics, but wouldn’t that just be very similar to how an MAOI would work? I’m guessing main benefit would be as a reuptake inhibitor it has way less baggage as an MAOI but I struggle to see how it would be more useful than just an SSRI + stimulant or SSRI + Wellbutrin

I know this question isn’t about the video, but have you ever talked about Jornay PM? Is it just as simple as being a Methylphenidate ER that dissolves overnight and kickstarts in the morning? Don’t really see people talking about it.

Let us know when this is available, my children have been diagnosed and I suffer from severe ADHD watching my children struggle with what’s been apart of me and the difference when they take vivance and how they completed their work on time . My doctor says I have anxiety disorder which maybe true . But I know that I suffered all my life. So hard to get diagnosed as a 53 year old man. With 3 kids with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia.
