This happened to me too. The fake driver will ask where you're from, and will offer you an amount which is lower than your grab app. This move is because he want to make sure you don't have a small amount of notes in your wallet, and he will take over your wallet and all the money inside, count the money quickly in front of you but when you don't stop him, he will drop and steal one of the note very quickly to his carpet/pocket. To stop this, I called the police, then he returned everything to me.[Teary eyed]

such fear mongering. the driver share screenshot to other drivers and see who nearby can take, the nearest driver take and pay 20% comm to original driver.

Grab has a picture of the driver. If car is a different one, next verification is the driver photo

Vietnam always have such case, another tactic is they ask you to show your grab app and they will press cancel on your phone then tout you to go up their car

could be the original driver send to him. sub to fake driver job. fake driver don't have grab account. highly possible, once fake driver get the job, he will pay some commission to the original driver. this is the only possibility I suspect.

只要是車牌不對都不能上去，我之前遇過雙開的司機，車牌不對但司機手機打開接單的車牌是一樣的而且定位也是對的，然後司機再拿出另一個手機打開grab跟車牌對的上😏所以我才敢上去

Ở Việt Nam cho dù bạn có lên nhầm xe đó thì cũng không có nguy hiểm gì khác ngoài chuyện họ sẽ tính tiền xe cao hơn app Grab mà thôi. Có 1 cách để bạn phân biệt được ngay là có phải xe Grab hay không là cứ nhìn vào biển số, biển màu vàng mới là biển xe được phép chạy dịch vụ, màu trắng là xe tư nhân, chắc chắn không được chạy Grab
