I realised I’ve never actually made a full post showing the entire interior of my caravan, and every time someone asks, I find myself digging through years of photos. So here it is, finally all in one place. This is my 1979 Viscount, which I bought back in 2017. I completely gutted it and rebuilt everything from the frame up. New layout, new insulation, walls, plumbing, electrical, the works. I renovated the inside and the outside, and designed it to feel like an actual tiny home, because it has been my home for almost a decade now. I did the majority of the work myself, calling in a few professionals along the way (electrician + auto electrician + plumber) for the technical stuff. Here are the full details for anyone curious: Interior + Build • Fully gutted and rebuilt from scratch • New layout built for everyday living • New plumbing, electrical, insulation, walls, cabinetry • Designed intentionally around weight distribution • Fully weighed multiple times throughout the build to keep it safe on the road Chassis + Towing Upgrades • Renovated chassis with upgraded parts • New axle, suspension, wheels • DO35 hitch • Electric brakes • Increased tow capacity • In 2024 alone, I travelled over 10,000km and it was an absolute dream to tow — super stable and safe Off-Grid Capability • 500W fixed rooftop solar • Portable panel for shady campsites • 240Ah AGM batteries • 3000W inverter • Full battery management system • Can carry 200 litres of water • Set up for on-grid or fully off-grid living A Home, Not Just a Caravan My goal was always to make it feel like a proper little home, warm, practical, and cosy, and it truly has become that. The only thing that’s changed since these photos were taken is the awning I added recently. So here it finally is… the whole interior in one post. If you’ve followed my journey for a while, thank you, this little van has carried me through some big chapters of my life ❤️
