Big daddy :
Elvis was not racist and wouldn’t tolerate racism. His backup singer’s were the Sweet Inspirations and they were Black Women. When he was going to be at the Huston astrodome in 1970, he was told that he couldn’t bring the Sweet Inspirations with him. He said to the promoter, if they aren’t welcome here then neither am I! They sang with Elvis!! Fun fact, one of the singers was Whitney Houston’s Mom!!

What many people don't know. This is documented. Elvis never saw himself as anything but a flawed man.... • The Studio Performance: On June 23, 1968, Elvis delivered such a raw, impassioned vocal take that studio musicians and backing singers were left visibly moved—and after everyone else left the room, Elvis had the lights turned off to record his final, most intense vocal pass in the dark. • His Stance: While Elvis rarely spoke out publicly about politics or social issues, the song functioned as his personal and artistic expression of grief and hope during a deeply fractured year in American history.
