Seven-year-old Jor’Dynn Duncan died on December 29, 2025, in Bayport, New York. She had been living with her father’s fiancée, Emily Kelly, who had been granted legal guardianship. Prosecutors allege that Jor’Dynn endured prolonged abuse before her death. AND THE MEDICAL EXAMINER’S FINDINGS ARE DEVASTATING. According to prosecutors, Jor’Dynn died from a severe, untreated infection caused by sharp-force injuries. The medical examiner documented approximately 90 injuries on her little body. Kelly has been charged with second-degree murder. Kelly’s mother, Barbara Renner, and daughter, Elyssa Seymore, also face charges in connection with the case. All three have pleaded not guilty. NOW THERE’S A NEW DEVELOPMENT. On October 20, Jor’Dynn’s biological mother’s attorney confirmed that investigators had exhumed the child’s remains. Her mother, Portia Duncan, authorized the exhumation at the request of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Authorities have not publicly explained what additional evidence they hope to obtain. BUT THIS CASE RAISES ANOTHER DISTURBING QUESTION. Jor’Dynn had been placed in the home through a court-approved guardianship arrangement. Prosecutors allege evidence of mistreatment existed months before her death, with the abuse escalating after Kelly obtained custody. Her biological mother is now seeking answers about how her daughter ended up in that situation and why the alleged abuse wasn’t stopped. Her attorney has indicated that legal action is expected.
