@thatmagicalnurse: When you tell us you’re having chest pain, one of the first things we want to do is get a 12-lead EKG! 🫀 : Why? Because we’re looking for changes in the electrical activity of your heart, especially signs of a STEMI (a type of heart attack that requires immediate intervention). : If your EKG doesn’t show a STEMI, that’s reassuring, but it doesn’t mean we’re ruling out a heart attack! That’s why we also check labs like troponin, monitor your symptoms, and sometimes repeat EKGs. : Chest pain is always taken seriously, but not every episode of chest pain means you’re having a heart attack! 🩺🤍 @wearfigs @La Roche-Posay #nurse #nurses #nurselife #nursing #nursingstudent
