A week? Baby i took my son phone for 3 months and game for 6 months. I stopped making breakfast and lunch. I don’t even know what my oldest kid (17) eat anymore. The more you do the less they appreciate. I just put all this energy into myself now

Studies show it takes 21 days to build a habit. Take stuff for 21+ days, cut the WiFi off, don’t buy anything, lock your stuff down and let them be hungry it’ll hurt butttt it’ll help them in the end 🤷🏽♀️.

The version of you that you don’t want to be is the version that they need. Parenting is not all about making you happy. They are the way that they are now because you allowed it and enabled it. TRUST ME. I KNOW. My son was headed in the same direction a few years ago. It broke my heart to have to step back and allow him to fail and fck up. I was doing too much for him and creating a loser. I’m talking about he was late to school not maintaining his appearance, not doing his work, getting fired from every little job, just not doing anything. I told him if you can’t clean the room that IM LENDING YOU, I will repossess the door and anything I find out of place will be thrown in the trash. No questions asked. Late to school? I’m not taking you. You will have to walk, find your own way or flunk out and repeat the year. You can’t clean up after yourself, I will give/buy you nothing and cook nothing for you either. Not doing your work? If you fail the year, you will go to military school , or go live with your father. No bums or losers in my house. Etc etc. the first few days, he thought I was playing. He didn’t clean his dishes, he had to eat peanut butter for 2 days straight. Got constipated af. Didn’t get up for school on time even though I can hear his alarms going off… WALK! And NO you can’t stay in my house. You can’t come back in here until school is over. Saw his room was a mess, I went in there with a trash bag and put EVERYTHING in it. Room was naked. I even put the blanket in the bag cuz it was in the floor. He came home, door was gone and room was naked. I least him believe I threw it out. Two weeks later, I I saw the change but I stayed quiet about it because I want him to maintain it. Now? He’s in college AND working. Getting great grades and handling all his affairs in time. Adversity is character building. YOU MUST STEP BACK. THEY NEED WHO YOU DONT WANT TO BE. because they’re taking you for granted. Find joy in something else. Otherwise, you’ll release losers into the world.

words don’t work! made my son switch roles with me yesterday. i was the kid & he was the parent. he had to clean everything, do laundry, cook us meals. while i watched tv. already see some improvement today. told him we’ll do it everyday until he gets it!

But discipline starts very young and it starts in small things. You can’t wait till they grow up or even start school and decide that you need them to pay attention or do as you say it starts when they’re very very young discipline. It’s important. It’s just as important as food to eat clothes on your back a place to stay.

Who says you can't take their stuff forever? Let their clothes stink, let them go to school w no food if they can't get up early & if they too late let truancy pick em. Happened to me. Learned the hard way. Gotta let them learn. You got this Jazz
