@owunnavictor: A person can be licensed to sell life insurance without being qualified to advise you on every aspect of your finances. Life insurance is one part of financial planning. But building wealth involves much more than choosing an insurance policy. It involves understanding budgeting, debt management, emergency funds, retirement planning, taxes, investing, risk management, and how different financial decisions affect one another. Knowing how to sell a financial product is not the same as knowing whether that product is the best option for your financial situation. And this is where you need to be careful. An agent may recommend a Whole Life or Indexed Universal Life (IUL) policy as a way to protect your family, build cash value, prepare for retirement, or create generational wealth. But have they compared it with other options? Have they explained the costs, risks, restrictions, and alternatives? Have they considered your existing debts, income, retirement accounts, and overall financial goals? Or are you only hearing about the benefits of the product they are licensed and compensated to sell? That distinction matters. To be clear, there are life insurance agents who are highly knowledgeable about personal finance, and some hold additional professional qualifications. The problem is assuming that every agent has the same expertise simply because they hold an insurance license. Before taking financial advice, ask about their qualifications, how they are compensated, and whether they are acting in your best interest. Verify their credentials and understand the scope of their expertise. Your financial future deserves more than a sales presentation. It deserves informed decisions based on your complete financial situation. Don’t confuse confidence with competence. Don’t confuse a product pitch with a financial plan. And please, never surrender your responsibility to understand your own money simply because someone sounds like an expert. 📌 Ask questions. Compare alternatives. Do your own research. #financialliteracy #lifeinsurance #personalfinancetips #investingforbeginners #wealthbuilding

Check annuity … most of these agents and wealth coaches offer such product. They tell people to move their money from 401k to annuity. Eventually, some of them will upgrade to being fiduciary and confuse their clients. I am not sure this is common yet among the immigrant communities but it’s one of the products the agents sell.

Another way people get robed into whole life is velocity banking … be your own bank😁. Different terms they use to take advantage of people. You think they are ‘not gatekeepers’ and they care about you. They care about their commission. That’s why most of the upliners are rich.
