Urm, no. We do not cover ourselves “not to be seen.” That is a misunderstanding of hijab. The purpose of hijab is rooted in the Qur’anic principles of modesty, dignity, and obedience to Allah (SWT). In Surah An-Nur (24:30–31), Allah commands modesty of men before addressing women, establishing that moral responsibility is shared, not a burden placed solely upon women. Hijab is an expression of faith and devotion. Hijab is not the rejection of being seen, but the conscious choice to be seen on principles that extend beyond physical appearance.

“To not be seen by other men”, i cover up yet still get looked at, how about preaching on men to lower their gaze, in this generation it doesn’t make any difference to when a woman is covered up or na, we still get sexualised and preyed upon

I believe this is how advice should be given. It comes from a place of respect and care and not as an aggressive command. It doesn't disregard the struggles that come with the act of modesty. May Allah guide us all and keep us steadfast.

brother let me tell you even if you cover up and wear even jilbab and don't wear makeup and wear niqab men will still look at you and catcall even though you didn't speak to them and you were walking at the street the problem isn't hijab tell men to lower their gaze that's the problem

I was a child and I thought, why do they wear that, but now I wear it too because I want to. Those other people say that we don't want this, but I do. That remains so, because if Allah asks me something, the answer is always yes, because when you listen to Allah, it is the best, and Allah has a reason for everything, and I am going to wear my hijab always.
