Things nobody tells you about meditation… 🧘♂️ Part 2: DISCOMFORT. You sit down, find what feels like the most comfortable position in the world, close your eyes, and settle into your practice. Five minutes later? Your back is aching, your hips are complaining, your legs are screaming, and one foot has decided to stop working altogether. 😂 Then the numbness starts travelling. First your foot, then your shin, your knee, your thigh… and suddenly you’re wondering how you’re supposed to meditate with only one functioning leg. 🦵 Of course, your body is going to try to distract you. An itch appears. Your nose starts running. Your back hurts. Your legs become uncomfortable. Your mind starts negotiating every possible reason why you should move. And this is where the practice begins. Can you remain present without immediately reacting to every sensation? Can you observe discomfort without allowing it to dictate your next move? Remember, everything is temporary. Sensations come and go, and the discomfort you experience while sitting won’t last forever. The practice isn’t about forcing yourself to endure pain. It’s about learning to distinguish between ordinary discomfort and pain or numbness that signals you need to adjust your position. You don’t need to suffer to meditate. So, the next time your body starts complaining, pause for a moment. Observe. Breathe. Notice the urge to react. And remember: you don’t have to react to every single thing you experience. Can you stay still, stay present, and simply observe? 👀 #Meditation #MeditationPractice #Mindfulness #YogaTeacher #yogaeverydamnday
