It’s been a year since I had clearly defined symptoms of dry mouth and eyes and trigeminal neuropathy. I’m scheduled for a lip biopsy in two weeks. I haven’t heard had to fight.

I was diagnosed with PsA at 19 within a month of 'onset', but my case now 12 years later is so irregular that it is very difficult to know if PsA is what I actually have or if I was diagnosed because I have had mild psoriasis since childhood and other negative tests lead us there. And if it is the right diagnosis, then it makes me wonder how much we don't know about it as a disease.

I was diagnosed fairly quickly, in just a matter of months, because I had no real symptoms until an accident caused a very sudden onset flare. My rheumatologist started doubting the PsA diagnosis for a bit because I was “ok” between flares and didn’t require anything but NSAID’s. But earlier this year my disease activity increased a lot and now I’m on multiple meds and the diagnosis is confirmed. It’s only been 3 years total for me.

I’m not sure how long it took me to get diagnosed w PsA. I do know that I’ve had chronic pain my whole life and wasn’t believed until I was in my 40’s.

It was years and I haven’t met anyone else who has the same diagnosis. I love this app brining people into my life that is on similar paths.
