His heart started beating faster; could it be that... No. His lover was dead. He watched him die several years ago, killed by one of the mafiosi he was set up with. But... His thoughts started clearing, the face of his lover that he had tried so hard to forget all those years ago, the face that haunted him in his worst nightmares now back, in front of his snipe. He could shoot right now, put an end to it all and get revenge for the things Yunho had said about him back then, for leaving him and for never reaching out when he was in fact still alive. He watched as Yunho ran, and when he was finally able to move again himself, he, too, ran away. Staying would be too dangerous—he had just killed a man from his team—but where could he go? He had no one. Wait... He stopped running and stared ahead at the city, bustling even during night-time, lights shining everywhere. Then, he heard footsteps behind him. Calm, calculated steps that were too familiar for him. He turned around, tears starting to sting in his eyes. "You're still alive." Yunho's voice echoed in the quiet space, a drast contrast to the loud honks in the distant city. Mingi was unable to speak and instead lunged forward right into Yunho's arms, who gladly welcomed him into a tight embrace. "I missed you so much, my Mingi." The younger shook his head as he clung to his past lover, still unable to fully fathom the situation. "Is it really you..?" Yunho nodded and pulled the younger even closer, not wanting to let him go anytime soon. "Yes, Mings, it's me... Gosh, I can't believe I finally found you." "What..? You were searching for me?" Mingi asked, pulling back to look into the elder's eyes. "Of course I was. They stole you from me, do you think I'll just let that slide?" His voice laced a slight edge of anger, yet it wasn't directed at Mingi. "I started to lose my mind trying to find just a trace of you but they deleted your whole existence." "I've been their hitman since... ten years." "I can see that. Shit, Mings, they took your innocence, I'll kill them for tha—" Another shot. And a scream. "Yunho-ya!" Yunho's body dropped down, and Mingi caught him, sinking to his knees as he pulled the elder closer to his chest. "No! Yunho-ya! Look at me, please! Baby, no!" The color washed off of Yunho's face as he smiled at his lover, cupping his cheek with the last of strength he had.
