@clarissaexplainsmoney: 18 years of personal finance advice in 60 seconds. 🚨 Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice. If you have been diagnosed with ADHD and have been prescribed medication, take it as your doctor or medical professional advises. Here’s everything I’ve learnt👇🏾 1. Taking your prescribed ADHD medication will help you with impulsivity, which can lead to impulse purchasing and spending. 2. Never loan money to people you can’t afford to not get back 3. Gamify reducing your spending, it will be more fun and you’ll want to do it more 4. Only spend on your credit card if you have the money to pay it off in full every month 5. Co-signing a loan for someone is inevitably loaning them money because you’re on the hook for that loan if they don’t pay you back 6. Check your bank accounts daily, you can’t fix what you don’t see 7. Find someone you admire financially and develop a What Would They Do mindset, ask yourself that before you make a big financial decision 8. When you get a new job, set up a direct transfer to a bank account you don’t touch, and don’t touch it 9. When you get a raise put the difference between your old and new pay into savings or investing every paycheck 10. Give yourself spending money, no matter the amount, you’re gonna spend it anyway, mind as well be a controlled amount 11. Stop gambling, the house always wins and I’m pretty sure you’re already in the hole ✅ If you need help with your finances, click the link in my bio and get my free Secure the Bag guide that will help you reach your money goals.
