I did this and NO-ONE clocked it. Started using language like “so when YOU do XYZ…” and doing utterly tedious hours-long training sessions on 10-minute tasks, and yet none of them seem to have fully grasped that I won’t be around to do those things soon

One time I was moving and had gotten a new (way better) job but my old company was allowing me be the first remote employee, the same day I was going to turn in my notice I get this calendar invite from my boss to half the company for a happy hour to celebrate me moving to this new state to “open our new location” which was news to me

Whether or not I go anywhere is fully dependent on your level of motivation to ensure proper compensation. Not just money, but benefits and resources needed. You can give me a billion dollars but if I say I need three team members to work with and you just dump more tasks on me, you won’t get what you asked for and I’m keeping the money😐
