@aubs13131313: What if Texas had a national park of its own? Texas lacks in public land, and though the state level has been doing great with recent years, national land in Texas is rough, especially near or around central Texas. So what do you think? Is it worth asking questions? Is it something you’d like to see in the future or is it something you don’t want to happen? #texashillcountry #nationalpark #texaspublicland #hillcountrynationalland #texasparks
If they could acquire more land around Enchanted Rock...

I’d be interested to see what a pros/cons list between a place like Silver Lake being state vs. federally protected. With how shaky things have been on a federal level, I’d be more scared about defunding etc than I would with a state park… but that also depends on the land contract with a state park, and whether it’s wholly owned by the state or leased out.

The ecosystem desperately needs SOMETHING protecting it from development

i wasn't really with you until slide 4. i'm kinda sold given how huge the expansion has been here. there are plenty of national grasslands and forests which have shared public and private statuses. i think we could have a unique national forest type of preservation here. it would be difficult though given there are already tens of thousands or more private owners in the general area.

Yes! But that will never happen with the current state and federal “leadership”. Vote blue!!
