My daughter was born in 1994. A preschool I had worked at was closing down and asked if I would like their Christmas tree with ornaments and lights. I was a single mom who didn’t mind second hand items so I said sure I’ll take it! When I opened the box, there were sections of newspaper dated 1970, covering the tree. I looked at the obituary section. My grandfather’s obituary was in that newspaper that had been kept in the box for 24 years, protecting the tree. Of all the newspapers to be kept in a box, I find the one of my grandfathers obit. Coincidence? ❤️

I had just started a new job bartending at a popular restaurant in Venice beach after calling off my engagement and was having a hard time with where my life was at the time. My first night behind the bar alone a man sits down and notices a tattoo on my forearm that says San Francisco, he says “that looks like the San Francisco Chronicle font”. I confirm it is as a tribute to my deceased father who worked for the paper when I was little. A stunned look came over his face and he asked for my father’s name, when I told him he instantly guessed my name. Turns out he was my next door neighbor when my father was alive and he knew my father quite well. He had never been in that bar before and if my sleeves hadn’t been rolled up (or I didn’t have a tattoo) we never would have known our connection. It made me feel like I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

I’m from NJ and I went to Paradise Island stood at the Atlantis hotel for my honeymoon two years ago. The second day we were there me and my wife went to the beach. I laid my blanket down next to my wife. I look to the other side and there was my ex-wife laying down right next to me with her new husband. Talk about coincidences. 😳

Not a coincidence but I was at a restaurant with a friend when I locked eyes with a very handsome man. I got all hot and sweaty & my stomach got queasy. I pointed to him and said to my friend “See that guy in the blue sweater? I’m going to marry him!” We just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago😊

My FAVORITE this American Life episode is the coincidences episode. Everyone…you have to listen. It’s the best. Made me fall in love with the show. Especially the toy soldier story.

I randomly met a guy. We started talking music. I said my favorite band is My Chemical Romance. He said give me your address. 2 weeks later I received 4 VIP seats to MCR / Blink-182 concert at Starlake Amphitheater ( outside Pittsburgh ). He turned out to be the sound engineer there.

In college I found half of a dollar bill on the road by my dorm but it in my wallet and didn't think anything more about it. Couple of years back in my home town I got off work and and old friend gave me a ride we decided to use his brother's ID to buy beer. In his wallet was the other half of the dollar bill. Fit exactly. He also went to my college but I love coincidences that of actual discovering we both had the two halves.
