I know you’re being bombarded right now, but I have some questions as a NICU nurse and mom of three: Is the baby gulping the milk down quickly or does he stop after a few sucks constantly? Is there any odd hiccuping/burping spells? Does the baby have a white film on the tongue/cheeks? My advice: Please have the baby evaluated for thrush and a tongue tie. If those are both negative, you may want to ask for a referral to an SLP for a feeding and swallow study. In the meantime, wrap the baby up and look into side-lying, paced feeding. I would be inclined to recommend a faster flow rather than a slower flow, as too slow would frustrate the baby more, but try both. And don’t go so long between feedings - this baby is HUNGRY and that heightens all frustration; they cannot regulate how to deal with hunger, all they know how to do is scream. Good luck.

Please, do not take your infant to a chiropractor. It is dangerous and unnecessary. Get some Dr Brown infant bottles and nipples.

check flow it might be to slow or to fast u have to be able to hear gulping but not alot of milk spilling through the sides. check for toungue tie it could also be gas tey mylicon drops

Dr brown bottles with the PREMIE nipples! GAME CHANGER AND LOFE SAVER! NICU nurses told my sister and I about them and said the premie nipples slows the same as it would coming from a breast and babies tolerate it a lot more than the regular newborn, plus it’s what they use in the NICU, I used them with my son and he’s the ONLY one out of my 5 that never had a problem with reflux or anything, also if you’re using formula try the premade liquid, it’s thicker and helps them keep it down 🩷

swaddle that baby. lay him on his side when you feed him imagine that the bottle is a boob and put him in a similar position so that he can pool the milk in his cheek and swallow with more intention. he will suck in less air. Go up one flow size in nipple. start feeding before he gets freaked out.

Cows milk protein allergy, maybe even wheat or soy. I’d switch to hypoallergenic formula and see how he is in 3 weeks

Yes and unfortunately I never knew what the issue was. She’s a happy 4 year old now but she literally cried constantly her whole infancy stage. It was so exhausting. I’m sorry

Grandma opinion here. Some babies are extremely picky on the type of nipple they like. Check the flow (to slow/ to fast). Try different styles of nipples and check for tongue tied. It’s most likely the flow and/or nipple style preference.

flow of the nipple may be an issue. also my baby HATED those bottles and would scream. the Phillip Avent Natural were the only ones she'd take.

Could be gas. I wouldn’t keep pushing milk unless it’s feeding time. Burp! Find a video on how to pull babies legs to stomach to release gas. The more milk the worse they feel. Hope you find what’s wrong soon.

Try another type of bottle. The way the nipple is slipping slightly in an out while he sucks means either the flow is too slow or he’s not latching to the shape well. Also check for lip ties and tongue ties.

Hi! Labor and delivery nurse who loves to help with feeding… change the bottle. I love to recommend the Mam and the Lansinoh bottles, they really are the best shape nipple. It could be the flow but it’s probably the shape of the nipple!!! Go out and get some Mams at target and keep me updated!

Acid reflux! My daughter had it and this is exactly what feedings were like. They put her on medicine and she could finally finish a bottle.

we had to take my son to the chiropractor because he had a traumatic birth. and they helped realign his little body and he was a completely different baby

As a speech therapist with a background with neonates- do some research into paced bottle feeding with a sidelying feeding position. Baby gets to feed at their own pace and don’t get overwhelmed
