Any area with water can flood and actually a lot of the desert area of Utah is prone to flash flooding. Whoever lied to you obviously never came to Utah

What Utah were you thinking of? All of Salt Lake was once a lake. Lake Bonneville. Did you research the 83-84 flooding in downtown salt lake? parts of Utah flood every year

Yeah. There used to be a play at Tuacahn about southern Utah early settlers and the most climactic scene was where they flood the stage because of the famous “100 year floods” that happen a lot in southern Utah.
