@nvjams: You still wish someone would show up. You’ve just learned to plan like they won’t. When I heard that, it hit home harder than I expected. I’ve been independent for as long as I can remember, and I’m realizing how much of that comes from feeling like I have to be. I put a lot of thought into the people I love. I notice the little things, try to make their lives easier, and worry that I haven’t done enough if someone is unhappy. Sometimes I wear myself out trying to make sure everybody else feels cared for. And it hurts when that same thoughtfulness doesn’t come back. Even when I lower my expectations, I still find myself disappointed. So I figure it out. I handle it myself. I stop asking. But being able to do everything on my own doesn’t mean I don’t wish someone would notice when I need help, too. I’m still learning that I deserve care even when I’m not doing something for someone else. #HyperIndependence #PeoplePleasing #HealingJourney #EmotionalHealing #SelfWorth
