Think you need two weeks of PTO to take an international vacation? Not necessarily. ✈️ Sometimes it’s less about how much PTO you have and more about WHEN you use it. If I were planning an international trip in 2027, these are the dates I’d look at first. By planning around federal holidays, you could turn just 4 PTO days into 9 consecutive days off. That’s a whole lot more time to explore Japan, Italy, or wherever you’ve been dreaming of going! And these aren’t the only options! You can structure your PTO differently depending on how long you want to travel, which holidays you receive, and how many vacation days you have available. I personally like maximizing consecutive days off for international trips because when you’re flying halfway around the world, every extra day at your destination counts. Save this BEFORE you start requesting your 2027 PTO, and send it to your favorite travel partner so you can start planning together! Based on a Monday–Friday workweek with U.S. federal holidays off. Check your employer’s holiday schedule. 2027 PTO | International Travel | Vacation Planning | Travel Hacks | Maximize Your PTO
