@tranquilstreamsmusic: Chopin published eighteen nocturnes in his life. This is not one of them. 🤍 He wrote it at twenty and then let it sit. It never went to a publisher and never got an opus number from him. It was a private thing he had given to his sister. When somebody finally printed it, decades later, the title on the score was not Nocturne. It was Adagio. The name it goes by now was attached afterwards by other people. So eighteen is the official number, and the nineteenth is the one a lot of people would name first. His sister had been even more careful: she called it a Lento, of a nocturne character. Are you glad we have it anyway? Link in bio. #Chopin #Nocturne #ClassicalPiano #CalmPiano #RelaxingPiano #PianoMusic #ClassicalMusic #SoloPiano #PianoTok #TranquilStreams
