A journey that turned into months of paperwork, unexpected obstacles, and one hell of an emotional roller coaster. After a major cemetery oversight, I had to apply for a long-form death certificate just to move forward. And it finally arrived the day that I came home from an incredible time in Vancouver seeing Bruno Mars with my son. 🥹 Tomorrow, the disinterment will finally take place in Ontario. My mom will be cremated, and she'll make her way home to British Columbia, arriving just in time for my birthday on Halloween. ❤️ She'll finally be where she belongs — with me, my husband, and my son. I honestly can't believe this is happening. For so long, I've carried the weight of losing her in a way no 17-year-old should ever have to experience. And while nothing will ever change what happened, something inside me knows that this is the closing of a chapter I've been trying to close for decades. This isn't just a procedure. It's a homecoming. It's a promise fulfilled. It's a piece of my heart finally coming home. I'm not forgetting my mom.
