@bloombergbusiness: Blackstone President and COO Jon Gray says investors don’t need to fear that the AI boom will turn into a bubble, calling it “a very different dynamic” from phenomena such as the 1990s telecom bubble. #AI #Tech #markets #investing #finance
but the demand tanks if you charge the real price big boy

AI as a technology Will persist, however it is massively leveraged and over valued. He's up to his neck in it and so cant tell the truth, there is a valuation bubble and it will correct.

It’s a total bubble because the buildout has far exceeded consumer demand. That’s why the financial losses are parabolic, Jon

There’s demand for what it PROMISES not for what it is currently delivering. THAT is the key that he is missing in this discussion

There is no scenario that revenues will pay this current level of debt by AI companies. Just like fiberoptic cable and railroads, the people who buy the assets in bankruptcy for pennies on the dollar will be the winners.

Does blackstone stand to gain or lose by acknowledging a bubble? My guess is they issued a lot of debt around data centers and frontier models

How about the dot com bubble as an analogy? Market overvalued companies with specific phrasing that turned out to be mostly PR.

You also need to bring up the cost, which although there is demand, individuals need to pay 10x for what they are using in order to justify expenditures

Demand is up for free AI no one is paying for it. Your revenue is next to nothing compared to what you’re spending and it will continue. AI is not gonna be your life-saving. If you don’t have robots to put the AI in no one is paying for the AI I say that again.

Bx thinks it can buildout the electricity grid? Haha we dont have a national grid and the govt doesn’t have the money. It just banned imports of power equipment that depends 80% on imports. This is not an investable environment

The mistake in bx thinking is that the US can get the parts to make ai happen with tariffs and bans, that the electricity grid can carry that load, that the debt can be serviced with the free cash flow, and that users will pay enough for tokens to monetize
