You get a lot of hate. Some of it…. Might be kind of warranted. BUT. You’re young. This is the time to take shots and see if you can do something on your own with little risk of failure. I’ve been blessed to “climb the corporate ladder” relatively quick and as much as I don’t mind it, I would love to use my experience to go do something for myself and exponentially increase my networth. But my risk tolerance is significantly lower now with a wife and kid who solely depend on my income. So all this to say…. Take your shots. You only got one chance at this life and there’s always a bar that needs to be tended if you have a learning experience instead of landing on the moon

I think you have a better chance of becoming a Tik Tok influencer and making money that way than through day or option trading. You need a far larger capital base to support yourself solely on these kinds of investments

You gotta understand the world needs 9-5 workers, and there are benefits that the 9-5 lifestyle provides that a lot of people prioritize. I’m very fortunate that my job is something I also love and have a passion for, but most people accept that their 9-5 job gives them security to live their life when they are not at work. If my livelihood depended on how well i’m trading and playing the market, I’d be miserable

I used to sell cars about the same age as you. it's a decent gig, you'd probably vibe with it. AC and mostly chilling out or making calls. Customers take between 2-5 hours and you typically make good money. $2k a week wouldn't be outrageous depending on the area.

I’m a teacher, so a bit different than a 9-5, but I love my job. I love the routine and structure and safety. After growing up middle class and then nose diving to the poverty line, the security is so important to me.

I’m genuinely curious what is the difference in your mind between sitting at home and trading stocks all day vs doing it in an office? Like you do the same thing as corporate workers, just with an incredible amount of personal risk for a slightly better payout? Is it the thrill? Or working for yourself? Like genuinely why do this to yourself?

I used to think that but now I’m self employed kind of working about 110 hours per week but I have nearly total freedom because I can work from anywhere off my computer. I think if I got paid the same for 40 hours per week of office work it would be a lot more peaceful I think
