@mikebsalazar: I spent thousands on lenses just to fix grainy photos, But you don't have to do that. Most of my photography started at church, and my photos always came out grainy. I never knew why, and I didn't like how noise reduction smudged everything. So I bought faster lenses, and later a full-frame camera. It made things easier, but I still get grain. For me, if I did it all over again, I'd slow my shutter speed down so I could lower my ISO, then let AI noise reduction clean up the rest. Shoot near the light, open your aperture as wide as your lens goes, even if that's only f/3.5, and walk closer instead of zooming in indoors. You don't have to spend what I spent.
