You need a real estate agent whether for an apartment or a house. Tell the agent what you’re comfortable paying and they’ll do the search and find you a place with no scammers. It’s a stressful process we’re all been through it.

I’ll give you a little advice do not trust the home inspectors they will lie to you just to get you to buy the house. The inspector that looked at our house before we bought it, said that the basement didn’t leak and that it had a sump pump. Well found out later at 15k spent to keep our basement from taking on water after it happened 2 times.

Well, depends on where you live. You may need to move. I live in Missouri, just outside of Kansas City. I pay 700 A month for a really nice one bedroom apartment , close to my work. Utilities are cheap, so maybe relocations. Your answer.
