My kids have been in therapy for several years now. I think it's important for them to have a safe space to talk about their feelings and express their emotions freely. I'm hoping that by starting young it will help mold them to be well-rounded, emotionally intelligent and communicate effectively while offering grace and having empathy for others. 🫶🏻

I absolutely caused them trauma. I ALSO unlearned my shit. Apologized. I keep apologizing. And I’ve CHANGED my actions. I still slip. But I hold myself accountable. And that’s what matters.

this was difficult to hear. I know I caused them trauma. as, FINALLY, a recovering addict, as they got older, I went to jail. when they were young, I WAS a good mom, but I'm afraid all they remember or think about is the bad years. I love them more than life itself, they are my reason.....

And i will always take accountability for what they feel i did wrong or hurt them. it is THEIR experience of me and I have no right to say they are wrong. I pray they never have to heal from me. it is my biggest fear 😭
