@elevatemd: Can hormone therapy help manage histamine symptoms? 🤔 The short answer is… yes, but there is definitely a right way and a wrong way to go about it! Let’s break this down. 😅👇🏻 During #perimenopause, your hormones become very chaotic, and progesterone and testostēronē are typically the first to decline. Both play an important role in immune response (specifically mast cells), so when they drop, we commonly see a spike in asthma and allergy-like symptoms. 🤧 At the same time, estrogen begins to fluctuate very unpredictably which can be a recipe for disaster since estrogen actually stimulates histamine production. This is why some women notice their histamine symptoms get worse after starting estrogen therapy. 🫠 HOWEVER, this doesn't mean you can't use estrogen if you have histamine issues. It just means your protocol may need a little extra finessing. One of the main ways we do this is by making sure your progesterone and testōsterōne levels are stable before introducing estrogen into your protocol. (This step is VERYYY important!) Histamine can be very finicky, and everybody responds differently to hormone therapy. So I can't promise that hormone therapy will cure all of your histamine symptoms, but i can say that it is an incredibly useful tool when it is done correctly. 🤌🏻 🩺📲 If you're in the US and curious about hormone therapy for perimenopause or menopause symptom management, go to the 🔗 in my bio to book a free 30 minute call with my team to learn how to get started. 🤗 #hormonehealth #hormonalimbalance #womenover30 #womenover40

I am 49 years old and have never in 47 years had allergies or any allergic reactions. The last 2 years I have had horrible allergies and now have skin writing disorder. Any and everything that applies pressure to my skin causes rashes and hives. Is this common?

I’m actually post menopausal technically. I’m 58 I am on estradiol patches, vagifem and progesterone and I feel worse and not better. I has heard a little testosterone could be helpful and I used to get compounded hrt but didn’t notice any difference in symptoms on either. Nothing seems to help my brain fog and adhd/ocd symptoms that have grown so much worse progressively since perimenopause. I wish something would. I miss my executive functioning. Any suggestions for a less histamine flaring hrt regimen ?

This is the craziest thing but i just started testosterone (low dose) and the difference after 3 days is insane (in the best way). Clear head, headaches decreased, histamine symptoms declinig by the day. I am hopeful for the first time in 5 years.
I'm also on a low dose Estrogen patch.

How do I see someone knowledgeable about this??? I have had off and on hives but it is much much worse since going through menopause. I am on the estrogen patch and progesterone but my doctor is a hard no and tough it out on testosterone. Zero energy. Where do I go??

My itching has gotten crazy since upping my patch. Should I go back down a dose? I’m also not on testosterone and think I should be.
