And well, because we could really do with more Indian authors teaching their culture and its practices with truth and respect. ♥️ Today marks one year since this book was published, and it’s genuinely brought me so much joy seeing how many lives it’s reached and impacted. The other day I filmed the final day of 30 Days to the Roots of Yoga, which was a short class on recommended reading, and I included my own book. Not because it’s mine, but because I truly believe in the role it plays. I spent three years pouring time, energy, and care into figuring out how to bring the most important parts of yoga, both modern and ancient, into one place. A place where you could learn yoga in its entirety, without fluff, and in a way that feels accessible and digestible rather than overwhelming. Of course, the other books I recommend are just as important, if not more so. But from my own experience, trying to understand teachings that are thousands of years old without any foundation or context of where yoga has come from and where it currently sits is incredibly difficult. That’s why I’ll always recommend this book, not only for beginners, but also for those who’ve already been on the journey for a while. I’d been practising for eight years before I started writing it, and I can’t even begin to explain how much I didn’t know and Yoga has a way of doing that. As I always say, it’ll have you asking far more questions than it ever gives you answers. I hope this book helps you as much as it helped me and others too!🙏🏼✨ #authenticyoga #yogateaching #yogaforbeginners #beginneryoga #yogaeducation
