@beazblendlab: I wore Absolute Noir blind today. Six sprays at 10:00 AM (1 inside each wrist, 1 behind each ear, 2 into the air I walked through), with no pyramid in front of me. 15 minutes: A subtle zesty opening that didn't punch me in the face. Lemon was out front, with something sweet or green behind it. Citrus was the most forward scent. I figured this one would have to go out in the sun a few times, and I started the family as Fresh. 1-2 hours: The zest was still pleasant, but something green came through, and I guessed vetiver. It felt like standing in a field of grass. I also sensed a sharp spice lurking that gave it a kick but wasn't warm. By 2 hr, citrus was still the front runner and something woody was trying to emerge. Warming my skin helped a lot. 3-4 hours: The fragrance performs better when my skin is warm. In the sun, the spice and woods came through much better. A faint citrus remained at the end. It lasted the expected 4 hours given how I applied it as an Opener. My family read was Fresh in the opening, Woody Amber in the drydown. Checked the pyramid against mybread. The top is pink pepper, grapefruit, lemon and bergamot. The middle is ambroxan, pineapple and watermelon. The base is moss, patchouli and vetiver. Here is what I got right: • Lemon: I called it from the first spray. • Vetiver: I called it with a question mark, and it's in the base. • Sharp spice: That fits the pink pepper. The sweetness might be the pineapple and watermelon, and the woody note that emerged might be patchouli, moss or ambroxan, but those are guesses. I never identified grapefruit, bergamot, ambroxan, pineapple, watermelon, moss or patchouli, and I'm not taking credit for them.
