Its so sad. Christen was finally one of the top starting forwards and then she took her mental health time off, tore her acl, and never made the team again. Seriously gutted me. Shes such an incredible soccer player and an even better human being.

Bro this is hurting 2016 me so bad. All I wanted was for Christen to get equal playing opportunity and Alex. She was never used to her true potential. She was just as good, just didn’t have the girl next door thing about her. She was failed and the way they tried to put these women against each other is beyond sad. I used to crave just a small interaction between them, just to know that they didn’t feel the negativity that people were trying to place between them. They could have been explosive on the field together, but in the unfortunate standard of women’s relationships, they tried to put them against each other instead of putting them together. So much could have been done. We could have been better than we already were. This actually hurts me on a personal level. Younger me just wanted to see positive women’s interaction in a line of work that consistently pits women together.
