I love that you’re planning for this. I had two babies in residency and still ended up single as an attending. There’s no right way to do it but if you want to be a mom, find a way!

EM doc here with PRN pharmacist wife and full time nanny. We have 2 young kids and it is tough even with help! I couldn't do it alone 😭 More power to you if you can make it work! Sending good vibes your way

I love this for you - just be prepared. I had a colicky baby that hated sleep and I think I would have had a mental breakdown if I didn’t have a partner who could give me a break. Just make sure you prioritize your mental health too!
