My 2 cousins and I are literally running this same test. Except the Peterbilt has an X15 cummins. The other cousin had the mx13 paccar in his Kenworth. Im running the cascadia with the DD15 13 speed though. While the DEF system did need a new head unit. My cascadia outputs both of them. The Peterbilt just came out of the shop with a 15k repair. New head, one cylinder needed a sleeve and 2 injectors. 700k miles on it. The Kenworth stays in the shop at 900k miles. Im at 1.2 million and have had the def header unit replaced and the radiator and resavior. So I have a hard time believing your assessment. If buying new. Im going DD15. Older, go back and get an old Cat or Cummins or Series 60. I had faith in Cummins but I've lost it.

drove a frieghtliner 2017 had 1.7 million on it . I did delete the def but saying that I would still be driving it if the oil pan hadn't busted and spinning the crank bearing.now I drive a 2018 Kenworth with a t680 already had motor rebuilt and every week have to replace things from front to back I personally will take a older Freightliner than any other

it's just harder to find a good paccar mechanic, mechanics keep changing parts , freightliner rads are weak and starters are changed as soon as the warranty finishes

So can you guess which manufacturer is paying for the study? Been driving Pete for years and it’s been nothing but injector and DPF problems the whole time and it doesn’t take no 250,000 miles for it to show up more like 20,000 Kenworth same exact problems haven’t drove freightliner so I don’t know. But they can’t be any worse than the new Peterbilt’s or Kenworth. Because the new trucks suck.

This is a crap comparison. Let’s do X-15 vs, DD15.

I'd like to see the actual data. I can tell you we run 680s and Cascadias side by side both with 13litre power. The Cascadia costs us about $0.04 a mile less to maintain. The downtime comparison is where the Cascadias really win the battle. The MX motors averaged over 20 days of downtime at the dealership waiting for diagnosis & parts a year per truck. Hence the class action lawsuit against Paccar

PACCAR if I had to bet did this analyzation. PACCAR peterbuilt is the worst truck I’ve ever had in almost 27 years

you can’t never say MX13 is better than DD15 the only thing you save with the mx13 is a little bit of fuel.

I worked for a large trucking company and we had all of those 3 and the Kenworth with the MX13 had 3 times the maintenance costs for the first 3 years of ownership. we had about 200 of each. Peterbuilts with the Cummins had 1/3 the maint costs of the Kenworth.
