Why Does This Cup Noodle Have a Plastic Lid? Today’s video is about one of Korea’s most iconic cup noodles — the **Paldo Wang Ttukong**, famous for its giant plastic lid. Released in 1990, this ramen looks huge from the outside, but the actual noodle amount is similar to regular cup noodles. The fun part is placing the noodles on the lid while eating — a classic memory for many Koreans. 💰 Paldo Wang Ttukong: ₩1,500 (≈ $1.10) The flavor is a simple, familiar Korean spicy broth, and the noodles are thinner compared to other brands. It has always been compared to Nongshim’s Yukgaejang Cup Noodles, and people used to debate which one tasted better. In 2012, Paldo removed the plastic lid to cut costs, but the backlash was so huge that sales dropped by over 50%. Eventually, they brought the lid back, and that iconic design returned. If you visit Korea, definitely try Wang Ttukong — it’s a nostalgic part of Korean ramen culture. 📍 Iksun-dong, Seoul, South Korea #KoreanRamen #WangTtukong #PaldoRamen #왕뚜껑 #koreanspicynoodle
