Hes not giving up. Hes doing whats best for him and his family. He mentioned his last chemo treatment had him in bed for 4 days and he hardly was awake and thats when they called hospice. Hes extremely weak and not eating days at a time. he wants time with his kids and his wife. That’s a man who loves deeply. And he’s homesick for what he knows he needs most right now. That’s the best medicine for him right now. He has fought so incredibly hard.

As someone living with a rare, progressive, terminal disease myself, I think it’s important that people stop insinuating that he’s giving up. There’s a difference between giving up and being exhausted from fighting a battle most people will never understand. This man is tired. Let him have some peace. Let him enjoy his wife, love on his kids, and make memories with his family while he still can. Not every decision has to be about fighting harder or doing more. Sometimes, it’s about choosing quality of life and making the most of the time you have. People don’t understand what it’s like to live with a disease that is slowly taking pieces of your life away. Please don’t add guilt to an already heartbreaking situation by making him feel like he’s failing or giving up. He’s allowed to be tired. He’s allowed to choose peace. And he deserves to spend his time surrounded by love, not judgment. ❤️
