no one look at me :
your comment about how demons act like humans and how hell is just America got me to thinking about how she COULD have made that interesting. because growing up in the south and going to church, it was always drilled into my head that all bad things in humanity come from hell/the devil. And one of my good friends who delves into their religious trauma through published work really latched onto that and has talked about how, if there IS a devil, he's likely the true source of racism, homophobia, etc. (in a purely spiritual and metaphorical sense), and that the most evil thing he ever did was convince people he didn't exist, therefore people don't confront those ideals because they simply feel part of them. the point I'm trying to make with this is that the sins are trying to corrupt humanity, because Lucifer hated humanity and how God favored them, which is why he tricked Adam and Eve. having humanity's current state (ESPECIALLY in the states) be a result of demon intervention in the human world could be INTERESTING if it slowly came out that demons don't act like humans, but that humans are actually influenced by demons-- a common theme in Christianity when discussing sin. And thus, capitalism being a hell born idea that was shifted to the human world, because as it is shown in imagery of Baphomet, "as above, so below." But this is just A interpretation on how she could have made the current state of hell-- which is basically America with less laws-- actually somewhat interesting, as well as the lack of difference in behavior between humans and demons.
