By the 12th hour, the sun god emerges once again. His journey involves entering the western horizon, uniting with Osiris at midnight, and battling chaos before rising again at the break of dawn. Hours 1–3 (Entering the Underworld): * Hour 1: Ra transitions from the realm of the living to the western horizon (*Akhet*). * Hour 2: The sun god enters the watery realm of the Underworld aboard his sacred barque (boat). * Hour 3: The waters transform into the "waters of Osiris," marking the beginning of the journey of rebirth within the Underworld.
