🔥 Upper trap tension contributing to your headaches? Try this! If you saw yesterday’s video, we talked about the connection between the upper trapezius, upper cervical nerves, and headache pain. Instead of only repeatedly stretching the upper trap, this exercise uses a contract → relax → stretch technique to help you access more comfortable range. ⚡ Contracting the upper trap first makes the muscle work isometrically. ⚡ After the contraction, the muscle may temporarily tolerate a deeper stretch. ⚡ This gives you a way to work on upper-trap mobility without simply pulling harder on an already sensitive area. Exercise shown: ✅ STEP 1: Stretch Tilt your head away from the painful side, look down, then rotate toward the painful side. Hold for about 10 seconds. ✅ STEP 2: Contract Place your hand on the opposite side of your head. Try to tilt your head toward the painful side while your hand prevents your head from actually moving. ✅ STEP 3: Relax + stretch deeper Relax the contraction, then immediately repeat the original stretch. See if you can comfortably tilt and rotate slightly farther. The goal isn’t just to stretch a tight upper trap—it’s to contract it first, relax it, and then use that window to gradually improve your mobility. #Headaches #UpperTrapezius #UpperTrap #NeckPain #NeckTension
