@jenn9boo: They advised me not to make first-generation Latinos one of my target populations… but I followed my heart and did it anyway. 🤍 There’s no better feeling than hearing a client say, “I wanted a therapist who could relate” or “I was looking for a therapist who was Latina like me.” 🥹 Being part of the 12.2% of mental health counselors in the U.S. who are Latino/Hispanic (Yes, only 12.2%!!), is something I don’t take lightly. As a child of immigrants, I ride for my people. For those who grew up navigating two cultures, learning how to assimilate while holding on to where they come from, and figuring out who they are somewhere in between. You deserve a space where you don’t have to explain every part of yourself to be understood. Our mental health matters. Our experiences are valid. Our stories deserve to be heard. If you’re here, I’m so glad you found your way here. 🤍✨ Source: Zippia, Mental Health Counselor Demographics 💌Contact: [email protected] www.healingmetamorphosis.com #latinatherapist #therapist
