@mi_animalrescueleague: Henry update! 💙 This sweet, resilient boy is continuing to improve. He's gaining weight, enjoying all sorts of TLC, and being a wonderful patient for his vet visits. Henry has now had multiple examinations from our veterinary team. They believe that he has abnormal proprioception in his back legs, especially in the right one. This basically means that Henry struggles to sense his body's position and movement, making things like walking and running more challenging. Our vet recommends waiting until he is at a healthy weight for sedation to perform X-rays to ensure there are no further abnormalities to his spine or hips. No other obvious issues were noted with his physical exam, so it is possible that the issues are due to emaciation and poor nutrition. Henry is currently on pain medication to ensure his comfort until further diagnostics can be performed. We are actively looking for a foster-to-adopt home for Henry while he continues his healing journey. Due to his medical needs, we are currently only considering local applications.
