@chronicallyawakee: After the original run of Scooby-Doo finished its initial episodes, the BBC announced it was dropping the cartoon from its schedule. Led by school children—including an 11-year-old named Jimmy Brown in Dundee—kids across Scotland took to the streets. They marched and demonstrated in cities like Glasgow, Dundee, Fort William, and Keith. Over 30,000 children signed petitions demanding the show's return. Young protesters picketed and staged sit-ins outside the BBC's Scottish headquarters at Queen Margaret Drive in Glasgow. Local steelworkers even backed the kids, threatening to withhold a proposed £1 increase on their TV license fees if Scooby-Doo wasn’t brought back. The sheer scale of the demonstrations and media pressure forced the BBC to reverse its decision. The network agreed to air reruns of the original episodes, and the public outcry helped prompt CBS to commission more seasons of the show. #scoobydoo #funfact #learnontiktok #Scotland #scooby
