I'm italian so it's ska-tor-cho. the word also means scrap, like something you'd find in a dump

Gumption & Glitter :
As someone who has a last name that is a noun in another language that gets butchered in a new and interesting way every time somebody tries to say it, and after over 30 of correcting people I’ve just given up and answer to whatever they attempt, I appreciate this video

super fun fact as an italian, “scatorccio” doesn’t really make sense in italian phonetics, we dont use the “rcc” combination, it is a rule that double consonants (cc) must always sit between vowels to be pronounced correctly!!! so having the “r” right before “cc” is completely wrong haha

Selina Giosi :
The proper Italian pronunciation is Ska-torch-io. But also the name ISNT Made up. It’s an argentinaian name, and most American pronunciation of Italian words and names are wrong. The surname is a real name tho.

I think it’s how Natalie says it. When she says it to the cop, she sounds tired like she’s been correcting people her whole life. In high school she probably gave up correcting everyone since so many teachers probably pronounced it wrong

The way Natilie says it. People dont pronounce things the same everywhere. Its her name, the writers had her say that, thats how its pronounced.

I like the Natalie has fully given up train of thought because I also have a last name people butcher on the regular to the point my mom who married into it pronounces it wrong to other people she's so tired of it

I think Nat is just wrong about the pronunciation. this happens to foreign last names all the time, the Americanization. but the ch sound is correct. her family just has it wrong (if that's the pronunciation she actually believes in and wasn't just joking at the cop)
