You will need to double check with the compliance. I know we had to get approval to move ours, which was denied so we got approval to cut it off at an angle, we weren’t allowed to make it shorter and our stairs weren’t going to be signed off unless we had it. Ridiculous I know but anyway…. This was over 15 years ago now so hopefully common sense prevails now.
