Companies are giving AI agents wallets and letting them spend money on their own. 🤖💳 With x402, an agent can pay for data, tools and APIs in stablecoins in about a second, with no human clicking “buy.” That’s powerful. But think about how companies treat their people versus their agents: 👩‍💼 A new employee gets a company login, permissions that fit their job, spending limits, and regular reviews of what they can access. When they leave, their access is removed the same day. 🤖 An AI agent usually gets a wallet, a prompt, and good luck. Nobody keeps a list of them. Nobody reviews them. And if one pays outside the rules, nobody finds out until the bill shows up. In IT, managing who has access to what is called IAM (identity and access management), and every serious company runs on it. Tools like Microsoft Entra ID and Okta manage millions of employees. AI agents that spend money need the same thing. So we built it into Lumière PayCheck. Here are the 9 features, one per slide 👉 1️⃣ Payments outside PayCheck: register an agent’s wallet, and every payment it makes is matched to what was approved. Paid without asking? Paid after a no? You get an alert and a one-click freeze 🚨 2️⃣ Enforcement: with our SDK, a payment we deny is never signed. If we can’t be reached, the agent doesn’t pay. That’s called “fail closed” 🔒 3️⃣ Agent inventory: every agent in one list (active, idle, stale, expiring or frozen) with when it was last seen, its wallets, its risk and its limits 📋 4️⃣ Agent credentials: a short-lived signed pass that proves to a seller your agent belongs to a verified company, without sharing your company’s data 🪪 5️⃣ Company login (SSO + SCIM): people sign in with Entra ID, Okta or Google, and when HR adds or removes someone, their access follows automatically 🏢 6️⃣ Access reviews: every few months, decide for each agent: keep, change or revoke. Then get a signed report for your auditors 🔁 7️⃣ Temporary limits: an agent asks for more budget and says why, a person approves, and the limit drops back on its own ⏳ 8️⃣ Policy templates: set the rules once, like “Strict finance” or “Research, low cap,” and every agent using them follows. Change it once and every agent updates 📐 9️⃣ Risk scores: Low, Medium or High, always with the reasons, so you know why an agent looks risky 📊 Why this matters: right now, AI agents are where employee access was 20 years ago, before companies managed it properly. Back then, ex-employees kept their passwords, nobody knew who could access what, and problems were found too late. We don’t have to repeat that with agents that spend real money. The rule we follow is the same one IAM teams use for people: least privilege. Every agent gets only the access and budget it needs, someone approves exceptions, and everything is logged. 🛡️ Before launch we ran a dedicated security review of the sign-in, provisioning and payment-matching code, and fixed every finding.
