@dictator_mbapapi: As the host nation of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Russia delivered a historic and unexpected performance, reaching the quarter-finals before being eliminated by Croatia. Entering the tournament as the lowest-ranked team, they defied expectations with a strong start, winning their group stage matches against Saudi Arabia (5-0) and Egypt (3-1), before a loss to Uruguay. In the knockout stage, they pulled off a massive upset by defeating Spain on penalties, with goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev making crucial saves, before their run ended in a penalty shootout loss to Croatia in the quarter-finals. #fyp #xybca
