The Great Schema monks are the most dedicated and spiritually intense members of Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Reaching this level is extremely rare, and not many reach it. To get there, a monk usually spends decades living a simple life of obedience, fasting, and deep prayer. When they’re finally ready, they take a powerful set of vows in a special ceremony and receive a new robe called the analavos, which is covered in mysterious, meaningful symbols that represent Christ’s suffering. These symbols aren’t just decoration, they’re a daily reminder that the monk is giving up everything to follow Jesus completely. Once they become Great Schema monks, many live in almost total silence and solitude, sometimes in tiny huts or caves on remote mountains like Mount Athos in Greece. Their goal is to pray constantly, especially using the Jesus Prayer: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” They believe this kind of focused, loving prayer slowly changes the heart and mind, bringing a person closer to God than anything else. Even though they try to stay hidden, people often find them out and travel long distances just to hear their advice, because many Great Schema monks are known for having deep wisdom, peaceful hearts, and even miraculous insight. They’re living proof that you don’t need fame or fortune to live an extraordinary life, you just need courage, humility, and a soul on fire for God. #fyp #monks #injesusname #wepray #amen
