@lubasf: Telegraph Hill has always known how to keep an eye on things. 🔭 Back in 1849, a signal station at the top watched the Golden Gate and told the city which ships were coming in. Later, quarry crews spent decades blasting rock off the eastern face, which is why that side of the hill drops off like a cliff today. In 1906, when the fire came up the slope and the water ran out, Italian families saved their cottages with barrels of homemade wine and a lot of nerve. Then came Coit Tower, the famous murals, and eventually the wild parrots, who seem to think they run the place now. Walk the Filbert Steps on a quiet morning and you’ll feel all of it. Tucked-away gardens, cottages that survived the fire, and views that make every climb worth it. Curious about life on the Hill? Send me a message or tap the link in bio. I’d love to show you around. 🏡
