There’s no way in this economy that I’ll ever be able to afford a diagnosis and no way will I ever get diagnosed under this current admin...

Until the regime that follows project 2025 is truly over turned I’d highly not recommend anyone getting diagnosed, yet.

I love watching these despite being diagnosed 4 years ago. I like to advocate for it; get the assessment done. Only 15% of adults who seek out an autism assessment are found to be non autistic. 85% of us are validated in our assumptions/studies

I'm afraid that finding this out while the government is hostile toward autists is probably unwise.

when i brought this up once with my provider, she told me that bc i have ADHD, their symptoms and behaviors are so similar that i definitely didn’t have autism, it was just my ADHD 🤨

My therapist gave me a referral to a psychologist who took my insurance, so if trying to find some on your own, your therapist may likely be able to help.

But what if I suspect myself but don’t see any real benefit to diagnosis? I desperately need help but idk what that help is.

Should one begin by calling our insurance provider about seeing if a neuropsych is covered? Or should you go through your regular/current psych to see if they can refer and/or make a prior authorization?

At this point, with the current administration, I'm too afraid to get professionally diagnosed.

I do not want a diagnosis in this political climate. right now it's enough for me to know that I am autistic without the puppy papers to prove it. that diagnosis can get people 💀 if things keep going the way they are.

I need a formal dx for future work accommodations if I’m ever going to be able to get back to work. But I’m disabled and on SSDI. Finding anyplace to get a dx feels impossible.

I used Prosper for my eval. I was fine with self diagnosis until I needed work accommodations. They have psychoeducation classes, groups, and individual therapy. Plus lots of resources in your eval. It was a great affordable option

I am actually still in the process (waiting on the report) but I felt the assessment I got from Neuroclarity was pretty extensive. They're assessing me for autism, adhd, and any possible overlapping diagnoses. $590 flat fee, they also interview family members. You can use Affirm or Klarna to pay over time. I've had a good experience SO FAR. They said I should have my report in a couple days.

I got a diagnosis from a student psychiatrist office a year or two ago. all they had me do was an Autism Spectrum Quotient test. I only scored a 43, but according to them, that's level 1 autism. is that still valid?
