I don’t know if I’m working this right but I think what you’re talking about has found its way into the medical system too. What I mean is I think that healthcare workers are getting the wrong idea now about certain disabilities so they have these expectations for patients who come in with that diagnosis because of misinformation they’ve seen on the Internet. I’ve never struggled with being disregarded as a human because of my autism more than I have in the last five years. It’s been horrendous. There are times I don’t even bother bringing it up because I’m fearful. It’s gonna affect my care.
