If you love aspens, this is one of the best places to be. The gold against the rugged San Juan Mountains is unreal. 🌊 Acadia National Park, ME - Estimated peak: Oct 9-15. You get fall foliage, rocky coastline, mountain views and the Atlantic all in one trip. 🍁 Adirondacks, NY - Estimated peak: Sept 29-Oct 6. There are so many good spots here, but the combination of colorful mountains and lakes is what makes the Adirondacks especially good in fall. 💧 Tahquamenon Falls State Park, MI - Estimated peak: Oct 1-8. The huge waterfalls are impressive on their own, but they look even better surrounded by peak Upper Peninsula color. 🌄 Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN/NC - Estimated peak: Oct 23-29. The Smokies have such a long fall season that you can usually find great color somewhere in the park throughout much of October. 🍂 Monongahela National Forest, WV - Estimated peak: Oct 10-18. This is one of the most underrated fall destinations in the country, especially around Dolly Sods, Spruce Knob and the Highland Scenic Highway. 💛 Fishlake National Forest, UT - Estimated peak: Sept 28-Oct 7.
